We live in Gettysburg Pennsylvania but we never pass up an opportunity to eat pizza, sub sandwiches, and other Italian food when we passthrough Frederick, Maryland.
Personal favorites are pizza Bianca, vegetarian pizza with pepperoni, and the cheesesteak sub.
The wood fired food is excellent and the service is very good. -

Il forno has a pretty good pizza recipe. It's a fluffy and crispy crust and a good taste.

I was looking for something to eat & this was one of the very few places open. They claimed they had the best pizza in Frederick so I gave them a try. The pizza was meh at best. The bottom of it was kinda burnt which gave the whole pizza a weird taste. The cheese & sauce were okay. The crust was pretty doughy also. I don't think I'll be back.

I really enjoyed eating here for tasty food, friendly staff and extended hours of operation...but after seeing boxes stored on the floor in the dining area (foot travel etc.) I was so disgusted and concerned about what else is being stored improperly.
Won't return. -

This is my favorite pizza spot in Frederick. While I frequent the il Forno express more often bc I order to go. This place is great for a quick family dinner. Pizzas are always excellent, cooked well, priced just right. They also have birch beer. Yum! Service has always been great as well. Quick attentive friendly staff. I haven't tried anything other than their pizza and a blt once, which was alright but I wasn't a huge fan of the ciabatta bread it was served on. While I appreciate the spin on a classic BLT I would've enjoyed the option to sub the ciabatta for white bread. But alas, they're known for their pizza not their sandwiches. So I will continue frequent this spot until I find a pizza joint that can compare in Frederick.
